"Thank you, Varenna, for a wonderful visit! Your beautiful village and friendly people made for a memorable time. The staffs at Barilott and Lake Bakery were especially welcoming as we had our daily breakfast with them. The tourist office staff was very helpful on numerous occasions and we send extra thanks for their arranging our taxi to Malpensa. "

"We had an incredible time in Varenna. The only complaint is the lack of taxi services available. We had to shift plans due to not being able to get picked up or dropped off at times we were hoping to go, which was very inconvenient. Beautiful place, amazing food and culture."

"Couldn't find a taxi at the train station. I even tried several times to pre-arrange a taxi to no avail. Had to walk to the property during which I hurt my back. So we ended up having to go home instead of on to Tuscany and Rome. The 7 am church bells are a problem. If they just rang 7 times, that would be ok as I could probably get back to sleep. But 50+ is kind of ridiculous. For this alone I'd probably stay in Bellagio next time since they don't ring before 8 am. "
